April To-Do's in the Garden
~ After
the gardens are weeded and the beds are edged, you can apply some corn gluten
meal to slow the weeds down before you apply mulch.
~ Fill in bare spots in the lawn with fresh grass seed before the weeds claim
that space. If you used a weed preventer in the lawn, put a buffer layer
of soil down between the ground and the seed to ensure proper
germination, and be prepared to keep the soil moist.
~ Add spring color to your entrance way with our huge selection of
pansies.
~ Early April is the ideal time to start edible seeds indoors such as
tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, and basil to get a head start on spring.
