Our greenhouse department includes superior selections of annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetables, and houseplants. The greenhouse changes faster than the seasons. In fact, Kennedy’s receives fresh shipments of plants on a daily basis. The experienced greenhouse staff at Kennedy’s is always ready to help you select the perfect plant, re-pot a house plant, plant a custom planter or arrange a plant basket.
Its okay to plant spring, summer or fall.
- Spring is the best time to shop for your favorite plants. Kennedy’s selection of plants peaks in May (so do the number of customers). Some things are sold out by May & June so shop early and often. Nursery plants begin arriving in late March and continue through the fall.
- Summer is hot, but it is okay to plant shrubs and trees during these months if you can water them. Did you know? Most landscape companies plant more plants in summer than any other season.
- Fall is an excellent time to plant trees and shrubs. It is especially beneficial because of the cool weather. Plants need less water during the fall and following spring. By the following summer the roots are more prepared to deal with the heat of summer. Kennedy’s is stocked with a great selection of trees & shrubs from April until October.

We encourage you give us as much information as you can. Bring in pictures and sketches and we can help very easily. We’ll even sketch you a custom plan on graph paper.
